Innovation and excellence at our 50th AGM

Fittingly in our 50th year, our first virtual AGM was our best-attended ever. Nearly 60 people joined the meeting to hear how the association is leading its membership community through challenging times by evolving, innovating, and providing support and guidance for members.

Members praised the BPA for the innovative BPA Meeting Place, with its new online BPA Communities for all members and interest groups as well as the series of Webinar and Beyond Parking Podcasts, all of which have helped to maintain and enhance our award-winning membership engagement and demonstrates that the BPA is delivering on its promise of ‘Excellence in parking for all’.

After the formal accounts were approved, BPA President John McArdle and Vice President Mike Marrs announced that their terms of office had been extended by another year because of COVID-19 and the need to provide continuity in these uncertain times. Also, BPA Board Director and Chair of the Public Affairs Board Nick Lester Davis announced he is stepping down from both roles after many years’ of service. At the end of formal business, Chief Executive Andrew Pester gave a round-up of the last year, highlighting the association's strength and its parking community. The meeting closed with a viewing of Beyond Parking the BPA’s animation celebrating 50 years and setting our vision for the future.
